Hoboken Dodgeball League

Duck! Get ready to wing those balls as hard as you can and relive those gym class memories in ZogSports New Jerseys' Winter Dodgeball League.

How Does It Work?

As with all of ZogSports New Jerseys' leagues, dodgeball is co-ed. It's 6 on 6, but a team is allowed to play with 4 to reduce forfeits. When you have 6 on the court, you must have at least 2 women. (If you have only 4 players, at least 1 must be a woman.) Each "match" is round-robin, 4 games against 2 opponents and we keep it exciting for everyone on the team through our four divisions (Players, Sorta Players, Casual and Extremely Casual).

What's the Cost and What's Included?

The Early Registration deadline is November 14th, with registration closing on December 5th or earlier if the league sells out. Early Registration fees are $775 for a team of 12 players ($35 for each additional player over 12 - no limit to number of players on your roster) and $80 for individuals (we'll get everyone on a team). Regular Registration prices are $875 for a full team and $90 for individual players (after November 14th). ZogSportsNJ donates a percentage of our profit to charity.

When Does It Start?

The Winter season starts in the week of January 7th. Each team will have about one game per week. Games will be starting at 7pm, 8pm or 9pm.

Where Are We Playing?

All games will be played in Hoboken at the following gyms:

	Conner's Primary School (2nd between Madison & Monroe)
	Boys & Girls Club (Jefferson between 1st & 2nd)
	Multi-Service Center (Grand between 1st & 2nd)
	Y.M.C.A. (Washington between 14th & 15th)

What Are the Rules?

This is a fun recreational league. So we want everyone to play, stay involved and stay safe. The key rules are:

	6 on 6, 4 men and 2 women (minimum) to start. Teams may play as many as 6 women at a time
	It's just like you remember it. A player is out when hit by a live ball, throws a ball which is caught, crosses the center line, is forced out-of-bounds avoiding a throw or is called out for a head shot
	Players can re-enter the game after a teammate catches a live ball thrown by the opponent
	Games are 7 minutes with a lightning round starting at 6 1/2 minutes
	We will use special dodgeballs that really do not hurt when they hit you. The balls have been tested for 3 seasons already and we've been tossing them around the office!

Levels of Play

Players Division - Athlete who can wing it? Think you're a jock? This division will be competitive, but still social and laid back.

Sorta Players - Pretty good athletes, maybe played together before, but still social.

Casual Division - for the social skilled player and the athletes in our midst.

Extremely Casual Division - this is the pure fun division. It's for you if you're looking more for the social than the competition or consider yourself a beginner at the organized game.

ZogSports NJ will try to accommodate all team and individual player requests for Division, but cannot guarantee all requests. We will not place a team or player more than 1 division (above or below) their original request.
