Help build office camaraderie and encourage team bonding by playing on a team with your co-workers!

Not sure how to go about forming a company team?  We have some great tips to get you started.

The First Steps:

What sport do you think your co-workers would be most interested in playing? 

Depending on the season, ZogSportsNJ offers dodgeball, softball, touch-football, outdoor & indoor soccer, kickball, and volleyball.

Do you need to play near your office?

We offer leagues throughout Northern New Jersey in cities including Hoboken , Jersey City , Newark , and at the Bubble at the Meadowlands.  All our fields and gyms are easily accessible.

Find Players:

Send an email out to your co-workers (see below for copy ideas) who might be interested in joining a team. 

Heck, send an email to people you wouldn’t normally expect to be interested – maybe Jane from accounting hurls a mean dodgeball, and maybe John from IT was an all-state soccer goalie.

Get someone else to do the work for you.

Send a note to the person who runs your company’s other sports teams, the person who organizes the best happy hours, someone in HR who knows everyone who's anyone, or even your department head, suggesting they try to organize a team.

Post a flyer:

Email info@ZogSportsNJ.org to request a customized flyer with detailed information to post around your office.

Get Someone Else to Pay!

Show ‘em the team.

Once you have your team together, bring some valuable information to the powers-that-be.  Show them the list of all the eager players and let them know how having corporate teams can benefit the company (see below for details).  Tell them about the charity aspect of ZogSportsNJ and that your company can choose the charity you will play for.

Sign Up!

Sign up an entire team or have your co-workers sign up as individuals, noting their company affiliation in the “Comments” section.

-          Help build employee confidence and loyalty.

-          Enhance awareness of the company name, product, service, and/or presence in the community.

-          Help develop and nurture a sense of company pride amongst employees.

-          Keep your staff fit and active!

About ZogSportsNJ

ZogSportsNJ is a co-ed, social sports league that promotes charity and social action among young professionals in New Jersey .  In addition to our sports leagues, we organize fun social activities, charity events, volunteer opportunities and charity sports tournaments.  We donate a percentage of all profits to charity and help you Play For Your Cause through corporate charitable donations to winning teams’ charities of choice. 

Robert Herzog conceived ZogSports after his close call on 9/11.  He decided to build on the tremendous human charity he witnessed post 9/11 and foster community in New York & New Jersey.  Through ZogSports’ athletic, social and social action opportunities, we encourage New Jersey young professionals to maintain perspective and a more balanced lifestyle by having fun while also giving something back to the community.
